PeerSync Observer allows you to monitor all PeerSync and PeerLock operations and activity across the network. Observer gives you a centralised view of all PeerSync and PeerLock activity on the network.
The PeerSync Observer receives specific information from all running PeerSync and PeerLock applications. It displays changes from the applications based solely on their ability to connect and transmit that information successfully to the Observer.
PeerSync and the Observer utilise Microsoft mail slots for communication purposes. This method ensures that all communications will be secured by the built in security of your Microsoft Windows network environment and no additional security methods need to be implemented.
The Observer comes with an enhanced interface with the ability to hide or show specific content columns and gives you optimised performance and increased visibility of your Peer software deployments. Observer also has the ability to receive PeerLock status information and display it in a separate table similar to the display available in PeerLock when running in an application mode. You are able to control the cycle of how often the Observer will broadcast messages to all PeerSync and PeerLock installations to begin transmitting status information to the Observer.
How Observer Enterprise utility differs from the Administration Enterprise utility:
PeerSync Observer Enterprise Edition can be installed on any Windows computer on the network with access to all other computers running PeerSync. A trust must exist between different domains within the same network for the Observer to be able to receive status across domains. In order to be able to utilise all the functions of Observer we recommend using PeerSync versions 7.3.2 or higher.
